born and raised in spain, benni allan – the founding director of london-based ebba architects – is always inquisitive and searching for adventure. as a young and emerging studio, ebba is highly influenced by what allan is drawn to most, such as nature, creativity, and the process of making.

through investigative and hands-on approaches to design and making, ebba has received numerous notable architecture and design awards. at the forefront of the studio’s work is a focus on making spaces that reflect a particularly poetic and material ambition that can carry meaning and have a direct emotional connection with the users.

“we enjoy exploring the potential of materials and the possibilities of doing more with less. this is not necessarily about stripping back, but more about what you can do with materials readily available. projects often stem from finding a material that can be manipulated or multiplied to give a richer effect. all projects start with an investigative approach to looking at the site and the problem at hand. at the same time, we use references and images of found things to develop a narrative that carries through the entire project.” https://bit.ly/3NVhutu
